Toy Town
One of the things I've noticed is that it's very hard not to get toys for Boykins. There are some that she really just loves, and I guess it's like I'm always on the lookout for another big hit. You know, like those producers in Hollywood looking for the Next Big Thing.
One of Boykins' first toys was a set of plastic keys I bought from the breeder.

The keys.
She LOVES these things. They're nice and tough and are great for her to gnaw on when she's in the mood to chew. She really loves to pick them up by the ring and trot around the house with them, looking for just the right spot to drop down and go to town.
Every now and then, they get all gnarly with lint from our living room rug. (We never knew how much fuzz that thing generated before we were down on it all the time!) About once a week, Quan rinses the keys in the sink so he doesn't feel nauseated to see her working on them while they're half-covered in lint. Icky!
Even before I brought her home, I'd purchased a few items for Boykins to play with. A big winner has been the hemp rope.

The rope.
She loves to pick this up and whip it around (just in case its neck needs a little breakin'), which provides me no end of entertainment. She also likes to plop down with it and just tear at the fringe-y bits on the ends. Who knew a simple piece of oversized hemp twine tied in knots could be such a great toy? (The jerk who made one and suckered me into buying it, that's who!)

Workin' the rope.
Finally, the sacrificial PIG. I got this thing for about $3 at Target one night when I figured having one squeaky toy in the house was a good idea. I didn't know the half of it. Boykins immediately went berzerk when she heard the squeaker, and was running around the house like she was on amphetamines or something! She also quickly honed in on the squeaker, which is located in a rather unfortunate place: the PIG's rump.

Can you guess where the squeaker is?
The whole pig has stayed nice and pink, with the exception of it's sad little booty, which has been gnawed, tweaked and chewed to the point where it's just plain nasty to look at. It's like the PIG had some horrible intestinal parasite and lost control of its bodily functions. Poor PIG. Boykins loves it so much she HATES it.

PIG Punisher.
She has other toys that she likes, but I'd say these three are her faves on a consistent basis. There are others that get her riled up, especially the crazy toy that the McGeachies gave her last week. Boykins loves that thing!
