Busy Saturday

Attack of the 50-Foot Frenchie

Boykins had a pretty busy Saturday this week. We had some crazy thunderstorms fly through on Friday night, so things were pretty wet on Saturday morning. We decided to hit the park anyway. She doesn't seem to mind the wet, and after a week of days at my office, Quan and I were sure she had some extra energy to let loose.

We met up with a pair of pugs while we were at the park, so they provided a bit of fun run-around play for Boykins. It's clear she loves chasing and being chased. (Before the pugs arrived, Quan and I took turns running across the field and having Boykins chase us. She seemed to enjoy that.) A larger dog arrived just as we were thinking of taking off, so she got a little extra running in with him, too.

On our way back from breakfast, we stopped at one of my favorite pet shops, Raining Cats and Dogs, on Huron Ave. in Cambridge. I've been thinking it would be good for Boykins to have a little bed outside her crate, so I got her one while we were there. It's a good size for her to grow into, and has puffy sides to it so she can brace her toys against it while she chews. She's not completely sold on it yet, but she has used it without much encouragement, so I think she'll get a lot of use out of it over time.

She could float away...

Yo.

In the evening, we had our friends Ivan and Sarah over, and they brought their pug, Twiggy. Twiggy and Boykins have played together on a few occasions now, and we think they're getting along great. It was a bit late for both of them, so all that running around so close to bedtime helped Boykins sleep almost all night. Woo hoo!

Too pooped. I'll just crash here.
